The P.E.I.-based comedy series Just Passing Through has won a Canadian Comedy Award.

Producers Geoff Read, Jeremy Larter and JasonLarter won the award for best web series for the second season over the weekend.

Season two has been online since January. It focused on the Gallant cousins arriving back on P.E.I. after their failed attempt to make it to Alberta and the big bucks of the oil patch.

Online voting for the awards wrapped up in the middle of last month.

Fans of the show made season two a reality by donating $55,000 in a Kickstarter campaign.
