P.E.I. golfer Lorie Kane, making her 26th straight appearance at the Canadian Open this week, is now officially a member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.

The 51-year-old Kane was named in March, and officially inducted in a ceremony Tuesday evening.

Kane turned pro in 1993 and joined the LGPA tour in 1996. She earned four tour victories, and was named Canadian female athlete of the year twice.

She has four wins on the legends tour, and has earned close to $7 million over her career.

Her addition to the hall of fame was announced back in March.

Her 26th Canadian Open start Thursday will tie Hollis Stacy's record for the most consecutive starts at the tournament.
