Here is who will be mayor in P.E.I.'s 10 towns

Municipalities across P.E.I. went to the polls Monday to vote in their mayor and council. Here is who won the mayoral race in the 10 towns across P.E.I.

Municipalities across P.E.I. went to the polls Monday to vote in their mayor and council.

CBCwill update this page with the results for mayoral races in the 10 towns across P.E.I.

All results are considered unofficial until candidates are proclaimed elected by the municipal electoral officer and the period for a judicial review has passed. The results of elections in rural communitiescan be found here.

Alberton

David Gordon has been elected mayor of Alberton.

Borden-Carleton

Charles MacKenziehas won mayoral race in Borden-Carleton.

Cornwall

CBCs Decision Desk is projecting Minerva McCourt to win the mayors race in Cornwall. (Submitted)

Minerva McCourt was re-elected mayor in Cornwall. She says there is work ahead.

"We have talked about the official plan, we've talked about Main Street, and then of course is all the issues that we heard as we went door-to-door campaigning," she said.

"So taking those into account we will soon set forward our vision and our plan for the next four years."

Kensington

Souris

Stephen O'Brien has won the race for mayor in Souris.

Stratford

Steve Ogden won the mayor's race in Stratford. He says he talked to a number of people during his campaign about issues affecting them.

"Made two notebooks worth of notes in terms of the important things to people," he told CBC.

"I think one of the things we can do as public representatives is really try to help people in whatever way we can. Whether we can just point them to the right area for getting their concerns addressed or whether it's something that the town actually has jurisdiction over."

Three Rivers

Ed MacAulay won the vote for mayor in Three Rivers becomingthe first person to sit in the position.

"It was excellent. I was very excited. It's kind of a humbling experience. And I really look forward tobeing a part of the new Three Rivers," he told CBC.

"Hopefully we'll get off on the right foot and bring thecouncillorstogether who have been talking to the people in their communities and we'll start to sort out what's important to all the communities and try to make sure everyone's needs and issues are addressed."

MacAulayoffered congratulations to all the nominees who ran for mayor and council.

"I hope they continue to be a part of Three Rivers."
