The second-annual Michael Thomas Race Day took place in Stratford, P.E.I., Saturday morning.

Michael Thomas was a great Mi'kmaq long distance runner from Lennox Island.

In 1911, Thomas became the first Prince Edward Islander to run in the Boston Marathon.

The Town of Stratford has erected a statue in his honour.

There are 5Kand 10-mile runs this morning.

Thomas was most famous for running 10-mile races.
