8 jobs lost as local company takes over Pepsi distribution on P.E.I.

Eight people will lose their jobs when Pepsi ceases operating its warehouse on P.E.I. next month.

A spokesperson for PepsiCo Beverages Canada confirmedArmour Logistics, based in Charlottetown, will take over distribution of Pepsi products on the Island in June.

The warehouse is located in the Watts industrial park in the north end of Charlottetown.

The company saidthe move will allow it to remain competitive, and that laid-off employees will be offered severance packages and career transition support.
