P.E.I. opposition failing to bite into Liberal support, says poll

The Liberal government on P.E.I. remains the party of choice for the majority of Islanders according to a poll released Thursday by Corporate Research Associates.

Liberals retaining hold on majority of Islanders, says CRA poll

The Liberal government on P.E.I. remains the party of choice for the majority of Islanders according to a poll released Thursday by Corporate Research Associates.

Support for the Liberals has been hovering around 60 per cent for the last four CRA polls, dating back to November of last year.

The CRA poll asked the question, "If an election were held today on Prince Edward Island, for which party would you vote?"

The poll showed one in six Islanders are undecided, about 15 per cent, while seven per cent refused to state theirpreference. Six per cent of those polledeither supported none of the parties or do not plan to vote.

Leader preferences

Support for Premier WadeMacLauchlanhas been lagging behind his party's, but bounced back somewhat in August, when he enjoyed the support of 46 per cent of those polled.

CRA reached 301Islanders for the poll, between Aug. 9 and 31. It is considered accurate to with 5.6 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
