Flooding in P.E.I. possible on Friday and Saturday: Environment Canada

Environment Canada has issued special weather statements, warning of potential heavy rain and localized flooding throughout the Island.

The weather will be caused by a "vigorous low pressure system," expected to cross the Maritimes on Friday and Saturday.

CBC News: Compass weather specialist Kevin "Boomer" Gallant says the system is coming off the Great Lakes, and is absorbing tropical moisture from a low to our south.

"It's going to be windy too, probably south east gusts 70 km/h plus," he said.
