All 12 of the puppies seized by the P.E.I. Humane Society last month have found homes.

Jennifer Harkness, development coordinator with the P.E.I. Humane Society, said the society accepted three applications for each of the puppies.

"Over the next few days we will select the best home for each one," she told CBC News via email.

The puppies and their mother were seized last month after they were found living in a confined space on a dirt floor with little protection from the elements, according to the Humane Society.

The puppies are now eightweeks old, which is the minimum age puppies should be adopted.

The mother has been spayed and is recovering well, said Harkness, adding the society has found a new home for her.
