The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation raised $230,133 at its annual Yuletide gala auction Saturday night.

The money will go toward a new electroencephalogram (EEG) machine used to analyze brain wave activity in adults and children, and three flexible ureteroscopes to allow less invasive interventions for urology procedures.

Bob Sear, board chair of the QEH Foundation, thanked the volunteers and sponsors, including the Murphy Hospitality Group which hosted the event at the PEI Brewing Company, as well as the 250 people who attended.

"It is only with their support, the leadership of our volunteers and bidding guests that we can continue to fund much needed equipment for the QEH through this event," Sear said.
