School bus driver who crashed 2 days in a row will not be charged

RCMP investigation complete, no charges against the 55-yr old driver. School board still looking into the matter.

RCMP investigation complete, driver's license suspended 7 days

RCMPwill notlaycharges against a 55-year old school bus driver who was involved in collisions May 17 and 18 in eastern P.E.I.

Aspokeswoman for theRCMPsays itsinvestigation is complete and no further action will be taken by police.

On May 17, thedriver's bus collided with a pick-up truckin the the community of Newtown Cross.Students on the bus were not injured. The next day, the driver's bus left the road in Eldon, withone student in the vehicle. Thestudent was not injured.

RCMPsuspended the driver's licensefor seven days following the second crash.RCMPsay alcohol was not involved. The driver also passed a drug sobriety test.

John Cummings, director of corporate servicesfor the English Language School Board says its investigation ison-going.
