Four Islanders recognized for exceptional volunteer achievements

Four Prince Edward Islanders are being honoured for their volunteer efforts, including work with the Special Olympics, food banks, and work to complete the Confederation Trail.

Ceremony will be held Monday in Fanningbank

The Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers ceremony will be held at Fanningbank on Monday.

Four Prince Edward Islanders are being honoured for their volunteer efforts, including work with the Special Olympics, food banks, and work to complete the Confederation Trail.

Jodi Harper, Sherrill Horne, Douglas Murray, and Lawrence Power are among those across the country being awarded the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers.

It's an official honour, given by the Governor General, to recognize exceptional volunteer achievements.

P.E.I. Lt.-Gov. Frank Lewis will present the four Island recipients with their medals at a ceremony at Government House on Monday.
