A special weather statement remains in effect for all three counties for Thursday on Prince Edward Island.

Islanders can expect sprinklings of snow in advance of that storm. Some places on the Islandcould get between two to fourcentimetres of snow on Wednesday, said CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland.

He said most areas of the Island can expect to see upto five centimetres with potentially higher amounts of between five to 10 centimetres in parts of Kings County on Thursday.

But Scotland cautions that even a slight change in the storm's track could result in higher amounts of snow.

He said strong winds will begin Thursday night and continueinto Friday. These northerly winds may result in elevated water levels in the southern Gulf with some coastal flooding and rough sea conditions possible along the North Shore during this time, particularly during high tide.

Scotland warns that Thursday's winds heading into Friday could lead to storm surges along the North Shore, especially in eastern areas.
