Police investigating report of gunshot in Summerside

Police in Summerside, P.E.I., are investigating a report of a gunshot at a Belmont Street residence sometime overnight Sunday.

Nobody was injured in incident, say police

Police in Summerside, P.E.I., are investigating a report of a gunshot at a Belmont Street residence sometime overnight Sunday.

Police received a call just before 8:30 a.m. Mondayfrom a woman inside the home saying she believed a shot had been fired through a window.

Nobody was injured as a result of the shooting, police said.Threepeople live in the home, in two different units.

An RCMP K-9 unit assisted police with a search of the neighbourhood and the Summerside police major crime unit is investigating.

Police saidtheyrecovered a used bullet from the scene they believe it was shot through a porch windowsome time between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m.

No one hasbeen arrested or charged, but police said theydon't believe this was a random incident. They say the bullet is being analyzed to see if it can be tracedto anyone.
