Trans-Canada Highway extension construction continues

Construction on the Trans-Canada Highway extension along the North River Causeway and at the intersection of York Point Road and Warren Grove Road will continue this week.

Motorists asked to consider alternate routes

Construction on the Trans-Canada Highway extension along the North River Causeway and at the intersection ofYork Point Road and Warren Grove Road will continue this week.

There will be two lanes of traffic open for90 minutes during the morning and evening commutes starting at 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The provincial Department of Transportation is asking motoriststo try alternative routes, especially during the rush hours to avoid delays.

Traffic lights at the North River intersection have been removed and a temporary roundabout has been installed.

Workers will be installing a storm sewer system and the electrical infrastructure for highway lighting as well as water main installation.
