2 Charlottetown Needs stores robbed by one woman, say police

Police are looking for a single suspect they believe carried out two armed robberies in Charlottetown Sunday.

'The female brandished a small exacto knife, box-cutter type knife and demanded money'

Police are looking for a single suspect they believecarried out two armed robberies in Charlottetown Sunday.

The first happened around 12:30 Sunday afternoon at the Needs convenience store on Belvedere Avenue a woman with her face covered with a black scarf and wearing a grey sweatshirt approached the clerk with a syringe containing what appeared to be blood, and demanded money, police said.

Shortly after around 3:50 p.m., police received a call about another armed robbery at the Needs on St. Peters Road.

"The female brandished a small exacto knife, box-cutter type knife, and demanded money from the staff at the establishment," said Sgt. Chris Watts of the Charlottetown Police.

The suspect is approximately fivefeetfive inchesto five feet seven inches tall with amedium to heavy build and dark eyes, Watts said, and was reported to be wearing red and black plaid pyjama bottoms andwhite and blue sneakers.

No was was injured in either incident.

If anyone has information about these incidents, Charlottetown Police are asking Islanders to contact them.
