Wage growth continues strong on P.E.I.

Wage growth on P.E.I. in September was the highest in the country, measured in both month to month and year to year.

• P.E.I. wages continue to grow quickly

But the weekly wage on the Island, at $831.53, remains the lowest in the country, and well below the national average of $957.27.

Island wages grew 0.99 per cent from August to September and 3.28 per cent in the previous 12 months. Nationally, wages fell slightly in September, with wages down in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon.

The second lowest wages in the country are in Nova Scotia, at $852.44.
