As we head into warmer weather, residents of P.E.I. can expect to hear some new words in their CBC forecast dandys, corkers and humdingers.

They're not official meteorological terms. They're coined by weatherman Kevin "Boomer" Gallant.

Here's what they mean:

1. Dandy

A dandy is when the temperature is between 20 and 24 C.

"Dandy's just a really nice day, temperate," said Gallant.

2. Corker

A corker is when the temperature is between 25 and 29 C.

"We see a lot of corkers well, we like to see them," said Gallant.

This isn't a term he made up it's one he learned from life on P.E.I.

"I grew up with people saying, 'It's a corker of a day.'"

3. Humdinger

A humdinger is when the temperature is between 30 and 34 C.

"Just take cover," said Gallant.
