P.E.I. tourism officials are not concerned about a lack of sunshine in the forecast for Live! with Regis and Kelly, which is broadcasting from Charlottetown Monday and Tuesday.

Live! will do two shows live and tape two shows. The forecast is for showers Monday and fog Tuesday. But provincial tourism officials, who with help from Ottawa are spending $1 million on the show, say they are not bothered by the rainy forecast.

Brenda Gallant, director of marketing for Tourism PEI, said the weather was excellent for pre-taping last week.

"We had beautiful sunshine, white fluffy clouds, and it looked fantastic, so they already have some taping of Prince Edward Island looking absolutely perfect," said Gallant.

"Products will be featured rain or shine and we are very optimistic it's going to be fantastic."

Organizers say there is seating for 3,000 to watch the shows, as well as standing room on the site. Monday's show starts at 10 a.m. and audience guests were told to arrive at least one hour in advance. Some have spent the night at the site, however, and there was a sizeable crowd on hand at 6 a.m.

Audience members are being required to pass through a metal detector before being admitted.
