Storm day school closures

By Tuesday, Island schools will have been closed 13 days so far this winter season.

That's one day more than last year.

Closures this year peaked in February, while last year the peak was in March. Schools were closed on Feb. 19 and 20 both years.

It is worth noting that the timing of March break almost certainly prevented another five unscheduled school closures this year, and the timing of Islander Day prevented one.
