Striking Charlottetown Canadian Blood Services workers moving picket line

Striking blood collection workers in Charlottetown are moving their picket line to high traffic areas in the city once or twice a week.

"You just never know where we are going to pop up. It's great because, you know, if you're in the same spot all the time, you see the same people," said Tanya Herrell, one of the workers and president of the local union.

"We love seeing the same support ... but [moving the picket line] just sort of gets our message out there a little more. We go to different areas where there is a different flow of people."

The Canadian Blood Services workers have been on strike since Sept. 7.

The 11 part-time workers at the Charlottetown office say they have been without a contract since March 2011. The striking employees say the main issue in the labour dispute is a need for guaranteed hours.

So far there no new talks in sight.
