Summerside west end opens

There was a celebration today in Summerside to officially open the re-development project in the city's west end.

The project involved filling of the areas where rotting seaweed had collected in order to eliminate an offensive odour that had been prevalent in the area for some time. A new seawall and storm drain system were installed and a beach and boardwalk were also constructed.

The project cost millions, with money from all three levels of government.
