New clothing company Local Legends is helping Islanders wear their love for P.E.I. on their chest.

Co-owners Aidan Northcott and Ashley Paynter wanted to honour Islanders and the things that make the Island what is it.

The company opened in June and to date the two most popular T-shirts being sold say, "Islander through-and-through," and, "Honorary Islander."

These two t-shirts are the most popular items being sold by Local Legends. (Facebook)

Northcott said wanted a shirt for people like himself those who weren't born on the Island but still call it home.

"We personally believe it's not about where you're from, it's about where you identify as home," said Northcott.

"Myself for instance, since I may be from Nova Scotia but for the past five years Prince Edward Island has been home. And some people don't necessarily identify as coming from away, theyidentify as being an Islander now. We wanted to give them a way to be proud of that. We wanted to show those people that we are proud to have them here."

Local Legends held its official launch party July 31.

While the company is based in Charlottetown, the T-shirts are sold at locations across P.E.I.
