Chase the Ace continues in Tignish

The hunt continues for the ace of spades in Tignish.

With just 14cards left in the deck, the elusive ace remained hidden. Instead, it was the eight of clubs that appeared.

The winner Friday night walked away with 20 per cent of the night's tickets sales, just over $26,000.

The jackpot is now worth more than $372,000.

On Friday night, both the rink and the legion were at maximum capacity.

Organizers say the lottery continues to grow in popularity.

In Nova Scotia,Chase the Ace ended in Invernessrecentlywith a $1.7 million draw.

Thetwo draws, on the Island and in Nova Scotia,have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local community groups.

The P.E.I. government says it has issuedlicensesto 25 community groups to play Chase the Ace for charity fundraising.

Jackpots build every week in Chase the Ace lotteries, because the grand prize is only awarded if the weekly winner pulls the ace of spades from a deck of cards. Every week the drawn card is discarded.
