Tyne Valley residents without a doctor urged to speak up

Paula Biggar, MLA forTyne Valley-Linkletter and the minister of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy, is asking people in her constituencyto speak up if they don't have a family doctor.

For about two years, the Tyne Valley Health Clinic has only had one doctor and Biggar says the number of people currently registered for a doctor doesn't reflect how many actually need one.

She's urging people to sign up on the patient registryto make the case for a second physician.

"Now the challenge is to show that should another doctor show interest in coming toTyneValley, that we have enough patients towarranttwo full-time practices inTyneValley at the clinic," said Biggar.

Biggar says the province is currently looking for a doctor to fill the position, but she hopes as more people register, the need will be even more evident.
