A project to build a new pavilion in Victoria Park, scheduled to be completed by now, has been put on hold.

Roy Main, Charlottetown's chief operating officer, says there was "a lack of consensus" on the project.

In January, the city announced a gazebo-style pavilion would be built across the road from the cannons.

The project designs, which included a new entrance to the park, cost $35,000.

Main says the city plans to reconsider the proposal in the fall.
