MP Wayne Easter says cooler heads will prevail now the U.S. election is over.
"The election campaign is over. He has to depend on everything he does getting through a Republican dominated Congress as well even though he's a Republican president they're fairly individualistic as senators and congressional reps in the states and so he's going to have to work with them," he told Island Morning.

Easter said most of the elected representatives in the U.S. make their decisions on fact-based research, not rhetoric.

He added he hoped thenew president wouldn't damage the trade relationships P.E.I. has for fish, potatoes and aerospace.
