Localized flooding possible for Prince County late Monday

CBC meteorologist Peter Coade is warning people in Prince County to be prepared for localized flooding Monday night and into Tuesday. Heavy rain is expected to start late Monday night, said Coade, with up to 25 mm in the forecast. That will be accompanied by fog which he said could be a challenge, as well.

CBC meteorologistPeter Coade is warning people in Prince County to be prepared forlocalized flooding Monday night andinto Tuesday.

Heavy rain is expected to start late Monday night, probably around 11 o'clock,said Coade,with up to 25 millimetresin the forecast. He expects 10 to 15 millimetres in the rest of the province.That will be accompanied by fogwhich he saidcould be a challenge across P.E.I..

The precipitation will change to snow on Tuesday morningwith 2 to 5 centimetresforecast, which could make for amessy commute to work and school, he said..The snow shouldswitchback to rain later in the day.

In addition, Strait Crossing has issued an advisory for Tuesday afternoon, warning of projectedwinds in the65 to75 kilometreperhour range,gusting to 100, which could affect travel on the bridge around 3 p.m..
