1 dead, 1 missing in northern boating accident

One man is dead and a search is on for a second man following a boating accident Friday night on Amisk Lake in northern Saskatchewan, police say.
One man is dead and a search is on for a second man following a boating accident Friday night on Amisk Lake in northern Saskatchewan,RCMP say.

The two men fell overboard when the craft they were in struck a reef. Three other people in the boat were okay.

Police said they were called around 8:50 p.m. CST to the lake, which is about 400 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert, near Denare Beach. They recovered the body of a 65-year-old man.

The second man who fell in the water has not been found and police said a dive team would be used as part of the search.

"The collision is under investigation," police said, adding that initial reports indicate life-jackets were not being worn at the time of the collision.
