2 Saskatchewan flu deaths reported, more expected in weeks ahead

Flu is believed to be a contributingfactor in two recent Saskatchewan deathsand more can be expected in the weeks ahead, health officials say.

The province's medical health officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, told reporters Fridaythat the flu season started late due to mild weather, but it's here now andthe numbers have been increasing in recent days.

In addition to the two deaths, there were 10 people with flu admitted to intensive care wards, Shahab said.

It's expected there will be more deaths and ICU admissions in the next four to six weeks, he said.
