University of Regina celebrates largest convocation in school's history

The University of Regina says this year's convocation has the most graduates in the history of school.

This year, 2,162 students will graduate from the University of Regina (CBC)

The University of Regina says this year's convocation has the most graduates in the history of school.

The 42nd annual spring convocation takes place on June 1, 2 and 3 at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. The ceremonies start at 2 p.m. CST each day.

This year, the university said 2,162 students will graduate.

Of the more than 2,100 students being honoured, 17 students are receiving an award for "academic excellence and commitment to community service."

TheUniversity of Regina President's Medal is being awarded this year to Avnee Paranjape, who is receiving two degrees. One is a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English, and the other isa Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

The University of Regina has now graduated a total of 68,000 students over the years.
