The final advance poll results are in, and the numbers are way up from the 2011 Saskatchewan provincial election, according to Elections Saskatchewan.

In the five days of advance pollvoting, 110,716 voters cast their ballots.

The results are nearly double the number of voters who made their decision early last election, which totaled 66,602.

As well, the total number of advance voters in 2011 was surpassed by the third day of advance poll voting this year.

Elections Saskatchewan said so many voters showed up when the doors opened on the first day that extra workers had to be called in.

One change for this election is that advance polls are open to all eligible voters not just those who might be away on election day Monday.

Polls are open from 9 a.m. CST to 8 p.m. April 4.
