Regina police lay manslaughter charge in death of teen

Regina police have charged a 23-year-old Cheyna Peigan in connection with the death of 19-year-old Andrew Pasap.

Regina police have charged a woman with manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old Andrew Pasap.

On Tuesday morning, 23-year-oldCheyna Peigan appeared in Regina provincial court. Family members of both Peigan and Pasap were in attendance, some wearing shirts decorated with photos of him.

When Peigan appeared before thecourt, family and friends of her and Pasapcried and comforted each other.

The Crown has opposed her release.

Pasap was discovered with serious injuries on the 800 block of Albert Street early in the morning on Saturday.

He was transported to hospital but died from his injuries.

Forensic identification, the major crimes unit, as well as the coroner are part of the investigation.

It is unknown if the two were known to each other.

Peigan will make her next appearance at provincial court on Thursday.
