RCMP say Alberta armed robbery suspects pointed gun at witness to fuel theft in Sask.

RCMP are searching for two men in a stolen vehicle suspected of being involved in an armed robbery in Alberta before allegedly stealing fuel and pointing a gun at a witness in Saskatchewan.

Police are searching for two men suspected in a string of crimes in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

RCMP were called about a fuel theft at a business in Cut Knife, Sask., at about 3 p.m. CST Saturday, according to a news release issued that evening.Cut Knife is located 172 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.

A witness trailed them to the Sweetgrass First Nation area where the occupants of the suspect vehiclepointed a gun at the follower, according to police. RCMP say there were no reported injuries from the confrontation.

Shortly after, at about 4 p.m., Battlefords RCMP saw the vehicle in theSweetgrass First Nation and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not pull over.

The police have also tied the two men, described as thin, six feet tall and with trimmed beards, to an armed robbery in Leduc, Alta., earlier on Saturday.

They are believed to be driving a silver 2017 Toyota Camry with Alberta licence plateE16 163. Police say the vehicle was stolen from the Edmonton area on Wednesday.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking the public to contactRCMP or Crime Stoppers if they spot the vehicle, but to not approach it.
