Homicide investigation launched after man found dead in front of Regina home

Circumstances around the man's death are currently unknown, but the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

Regina police and the coroner's office have launched a homicide investigation after a man's body was found in front of a home Wednesday morning.

The body was discoveredshortly after 8a.m. CSTon the 1000 block of Atkinson Street, in the Eastview neighbourhood. Police responded toa report ofa man lying in front of a home who did not appear to breathing.

Paramedics confirmed at the scene that the man was dead.

Police have identified the man, who they say was in his mid-20s, but have not released his name.

The police service says the incident does not create any elevated risk to the public.
