Bail hearing adjourned for youth accused of killing Hannah Leflar
Court heard three hours of evidence on May 21
Dozens of people wearing purple were in youth court on May 21 as one of the teenscharged with killing 16-year-old Hannah Leflar made his case for bail.
The court heard three hours of evidence before the judge adjourned the matter to May 26.
The evidence, which is subject to a publication ban, caused some in court to sob quietly and gasp in surprise.
In January, two 16-year-old boys were charged with first degree murder in relation to the killing of Leflar.
She was found inside a home onthe 400 block of Garnet Street N.
The two teens charged cannot be named because of their age.
Earlier this month, Leflar's family started a petition against bail for the accused. It's received more than 10,000 signatures.
The other boy charged in the case has a preliminary hearing set for November.
The Crown has announced it will seek an adult sentencefor both of the teens, if convicted.
