Body found on highway near Big River

RCMP in Big River, Sask. are investigating a sudden death after finding the body of a woman on the highway.

RCMP in Big River, Sask. are investigating a sudden death after finding the body of a woman on the highway.

She was found around 9 a.m. CT Monday south of the town on Highway 942, about 18 kilometres north of the intersection with Highway 55, the RCMP said.

The woman has been described as being in her mid-20s to early-30s, short with a medium to heavy build and wearing a pink shirt and black pants.

The RCMP have called intheir major crimes unit, forensics investigators and a traffic collision analyst.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Big River is about 130 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
