Boy, 5, driving mini ATV seriously injured in crash

A five-year-old boy who had been driving a small all-terrain vehicle is in hospital in serious condition after being hit by a truck.

A five-year-old boy who had been driving a small, all-terrain vehicle is in hospital in serious condition after being hit by a truck.

It happened around 8 p.m. CST Tuesday in the rural municipality of Miry Creek in southwestern Saskatchewan.

The collision happened on a grid road.The boywas wearing a helmet, theRCMPsaid.

Hewas airlifted to hospital in Saskatoon by STARS air ambulance.

The man driving the truck was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor, the RCMP said.

Police continue to investigate. An update on the boy's condition wasn't immediately available. The RM of Miry Creek is about 344 kilometres west of Regina.
