Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall went on Twitter last nightto briefly congratulate Alberta NDP leader Rachel Notley on her party's stunning election victory.

"Congratulations to @RachelNotley and the Alta NDP on winning #abvote," was the comment from Wall Tuesday night.

Alberta's New Democrats won 53 seats Monday, easily enough to form a majority government, turfing out the Progressive Conservatives after more than four decades in power.

The astonishing result has put some wind into the sails of the Saskatchewan NDP, which was reduced to nine seats in the 2011 election.

Leader Cam Broten also tweeted out his congratulations.

"As Jack Layton often said, "Never let them tell you it can't be done!" Huge congrats to Premier-Elect @RachelNotley!" he said in a tweet.

Last night's result means Saskatchewan will be bordered to the east and the west by NDP governments.

Dozens of Albertans took to social media Tuesday night to claim tongue in cheek, presumably that they were moving to Saskatchewan.
