Lineup announced for BreakOut West music festival in Regina

An annual gathering of some of the best bands in western Canada is heading to Regina this year and it's bringing with it more than 60 artists.

The BreakOut West festival is on its way to the Queen City from Oct. 13 to 16, and features genres ranging from pop to country to hip hop.

According to organizers, the festival is designed to support the music industry in western Canada and showcase some of its best talents.

The festival's host city changes every year. Last year it took place in Victoriaand it was in Winnipeg in 2014.

A number of Saskatchewan-based favourites are taking part, including Rah Rah, Poor Nameless Boy, Andino Suns and Rosie & the Riveters, at 11 venues across the city.

The festival will be tipped off by the Western Canadian Music Awards show on October 13, where a number of genre-specific awards will be presented.Tickets to that event are sold separately.
