Canada Post forgot to notify a Moose Jaw man about its plan to set a community mailbox near his home and says it is open to finding another location.

Moose Jaw resident Trent Lewry had complained about the mailbox as he fears users may use his driveway as a parking spot to pick up mail. The community mailbox also obstructs a view from one of his windows.

Anick Losier, an official from Canada Post, said there was a last-minute change of location and Lewry had not been contacted about it.

"We had chosen another location for the community mailbox that would serve the neighbourhood," Losier said Monday. "Unfortunately, we made a change and we did not knock on his door like we should have."

Losier said that the Lewry home was on their list of people to talk to, but was missed.

"We made it our mission to go and knock on their door and have a conversation with them," Losier said. "We did not do that in this case and we are rectifying the situation."

Losier added that Canada Post is open to changing the location of the mailbox.
