A group of friends from Foam Lake, Sask., are on their way to Paris to learn if their charity cookbook, the fifth in their "Breast Friends" series, wins an international award.

The books, six in the series so far, have been best-sellers around the world.

The fifth has already been named the best charity cookbook in Canada.

The shortlist for the international prize includes some major star power.

"I think there's five people shortlisted," Jacqui Klebeck told CBC News prior to departing Regina. "Michelle Obama is one of them. So, we are very excited."

Klebeck said the group has come a long way from gathering around a kitchen table gathering recipes.

The winner of the Gormand World Cookbook Awards will be announced Feb 23.
