Driver slams into light pole after failing to clear windshield

A Moose Jaw driver found out the hard way the importance of keeping a clean windshield during frosty weather.

$25,000 damage done, Moose Jaw police say

A Moose Jaw driver has discovered the importance of keeping a cleanwindshield duringfrosty weather, but he did it the hard way.

On Wednesday, the driver hit a light poleon Thatcher Drive and 9th Avenue NW, causing $25,000 damage.

Police then laid a charge offailing to keep the vehicle's front windshield clean.

Under the Traffic Safety Act, both the front and side windshields must give the driver a clearview.

It's a common problem around the provinceapparently.Prince Albert'sParkland Ambulance is among the Saskatchewanagencies reminding people to keep their car windows clear of ice and snow, and also to ensure thewipers work effectively.
