First Nations University Spring Powwow underway in Regina

The First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow is kicking off the season in Regina this weekend.

The First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow is kicking off the season in Regina this weekend.

It started on Saturday at the Brandt Centre and and continues until 7 p.m. CST on Sunday.

This is the 36th year of the annual spring celebration, making it one of the longest-running in the province.

There are hundreds of dancers taking part and is considered one of the biggest kick-offs to the season in this province.

Organizers expect more than 6,000 people to attend this weekend.

Grand entry begins at noon both days.
