Gang ties discussed at Regina murder trial

Witness testimony in the Daniel Richard Wolfe murder trial is touching on gang connections, a Regina court heard Tuesday.

Wolfe, 33, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 2007 deaths of Marvin Arnault, 51, and Michael Itittakoose, 24.

Testimony from Crown witnesses dealt with the hours before the fatal shooting that took place in a Fort Qu'Appelle home on Sept. 20, 2007.

Witness Cordell Keepness told court he drove several people from the house to a bar, and that one man inhis group whom he said had ties to the Native Syndicate street gang got into an argument with another man at the bar.

Another witness, an employee at the bar, told court that on the same night, he hearda man with Indian Posse tattoos talking about the argument.That manwas seen leaving the bar.

A few hours later at the house, a gunman wearing a red bandana opened fire.

Arnault and Itittakoosewere killed and three others were injured, including Keepness.

Wolfe, who has been linked to the Indian Posse gang and whose family lives in Manitoba, is also being tried on three counts of attempted murder. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The trial before Queen's Bench Judge Eugene Sheibel continues Wednesday.
