Police investigate another possible gunshot in Regina's North Central

Police are looking into another report of a gunshot in Regina, marking at least four similar incidents in the past week.

Police are trying to figure out why there's been so many incidents involving gunshots in Regina in the past week.

On Thursday, police responded to another report of gunshots in the city's North Central neighbourhood marking at least four incidents in the past week.

In thismost recent case, police were called to North Central after a local resident reported hearing a gunshot around 3:08 a.m. CST. A few minutes later they headed to the 1100 block of Rae Street to investigate a broken window allegedly shot by a gun.

Kim Schmidt, social media officer for Regina Police Service, said officers are working to determine whether this event is connected to other recent shots fired in Regina.

Police are also investigating why anumber of incidents have happened since Saturday.

"They're looking into why there's a bunch of them happening," Schmidt said.

Recent incidents

On Saturday, June 18, a home on the 800 block of Garnet Street had a window shot out in the morning.

Three days later on Monday,a man was in critical condition after being shot close to downtown on the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue.

On Wednesday, June 22, police were called to the 1400 block of Robinson Street, after they received a call that someone had shot out a window in a home at 7:40 a.m. CST.Ten minutes later a 30-year-old man showed up at a hospital in the morning with an apparent gunshot wound, prompting police to start investigation for attempted murder.
