Hotel ravaged by fire in Edam, Sask.

The village of Edam, Sask., is once again facing the aftermath of a fire.

Turtleford RCMP and the Edam Fire Department responded to the Rendezvous Hotel after 9:30 p.m. CST onSunday.

The village hotel, which has been in businessfor decades, was up in flames.

The RCMP saysthe fire is being investigated.

There is no word on the condition of the building.

General store destroyed

The community also lost its general store to a fire in December2016.

"It's the only store we have in town. It's been there forever," resident Danielle Troeschtold CBC at the time.

The cause of the fire was not released.

Edam is 55 kilometres northwest of North Battleford.
