Saskatchewan Conservative MP Kelly Block is getting a lot of attention over a flyer she sent out to her constituents.

The Saskatoon-Rosetown-BiggarMPsent the flyer last week about cuts to extra health benefits for refugee claimants. It reads, "New Arrivals to Canada have received dental and vision care paid for by your tax dollarsnot any more."

The flyer has sparked a lot of concern in social media with some people calling it racist.

Block said it was never her intent to be offensive and admitted she could have been clearer.

"The reforms that were made to the legislation are anything but racist," Block said. "What my flyer was doing was highlighting that we were balancing benefits by ensuring that asylum claimants do not receive better health care benefits than Canadians."

Block said she will continue to respond to constituents who contact her directly.
