Laser pointed at STARS rescue helicopter, reported to RCMP

RCMP in Saskatchewan have been contacted about an incident involving a STARS rescue helicopter that was flying to Saskatoon and encountered a laser light pointed in its direction.

RCMP in Saskatchewan have been contacted about an incident involving a STARS rescue helicopter that was flying to Saskatoon and encountered a laser light pointed in its direction.

According to a report from aviation authorities, the incident happened Thursdayaround 10:24 p.m. CST when the rescue helicopter was just outside Saskatoon, about 13 kilometres north of the city,flying to the airport from Prince Albert.

The pilot reported that a green laser light was aimed at the helicopter. The report said the pilot was able to continue to the airport and land without any problems.

RCMP in Warman, Sask., were notified about the laser beam incident.
