Man, 18, shot to death in Regina's north end

After a night of gunfire, Regina police were at the scene of a death in the 500 block of Montreal Street Friday morning.

Gloria Van Den Akker told reporters she was stunned to hear gunfire near her home. Police said a man, 18, had been shot to death.

After a night of gunfire, Regina police were at the scene of a death in the 500 block of Montreal Street Friday morning.

Officers have confirmed that an 18-year-old man was shot and killed at that location in the early hours of Friday morning.

He has been identified as Nolen Boyd Tanner, from Regina.

The 911 centre tookacall around 1:30 a.m. CST, reporting a fight in a yard and on the street.

A neighbour, Gloria Van Den Akker,told CBC News she heard the fighting,followed by at least five gunshots.

She said she heard a man screaming "My leg! My leg!"

"I just stayed in the house,didn't come out until after I seen the police all arrive and everything," she said.

"Everything was going on.EMS showed up;awhole bunch of police cars. They were running around here, and then they brought in the police dogs and just everything. It's a scary scene."

Police wereinvestigatinga house on the street. Neighbours said it has been the scene of some noisy parties in the past.

While the shooting took place on Halloween night and was associated with a party, police said it was not a costume party.

Police also said, later on Friday, that they had not recovered any firearms.

It's the second fatal incident on a Regina street in two days. On Thursday, a woman died after a fight on the street in the 700 block of AtholStreet. A 29-year-old woman has been charged.

The incident on Montreal Street is Regina'sninth homicide of 2013.
