'Moose triplets [are]almost unheard of."- Dain Sorensen

Late in the afternoon Monday, as he was driving northeast of Moosomin, he saw the head of a moose in a field of canola.

"It's so yellow, anything sticks out," Sorensen said.

After he checked traffic ahead and behind him, Sorensen stopped and grabbed his cellphone camera.

That's when he noticed three calves scooting along in the field as well.

He started recording what he saw, amazed by the encounter .

"I was like, 'Holy moley'," he said. "Moose triplets [are]almost unheard of."

Sorensen said while it is very common to see moose on the move in the area, the sight of three calves is unusual.

"I thought that was so rare that I had to share it," he said, noting his video had attracted many views on YouTube.

Moosomin is about 225 kilometres east of Regina.
